In June 2024, the historic Milanese maison inaugurated its first flagship store in Japan, located in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo. The boutique spans two levels, covering a total area of approximately 200 square meters.
The concept developed by ML A is inspired by the Serapian showroom, the iconic Villa Mozart, and the typical Milanese architecture in general. The color chosen for the facade references the hues commonly found in Milanese buildings, while the entrance door is framed by moldings that faithfully replicate the entrance of Villa Mozart.
In crafting the overall concept, from the furnishings to the design of the mosaic floors, ML A aimed to recreate the atmosphere typical of residences in the Lombard capital: the entrance as the public part of the residence, the winter garden, and the more private and comfortable living room on the first floor. Inside the store, contemporary elements characteristic of the concept blend with vintage design, featuring iconic pieces selected in collaboration with the maison, reflecting Serapian’s desire to honor its origins while maintaining a keen eye on the future and innovation.
