The studio MLA was involved into the project to design the interior of the new Whirlpool EMEA Headquarters in Milan.
The company was looking to reduce the size of their offices (previously located in Pero). Therefore, the challenge was that of presenting a solution that would make employees easily adapt to the new working space, while acclimating to a new area in the city, Certosa District, which is expanding rapidly and resolutely as a result of Real Step’s vision and development.
The new complex is an example of adaptive reuse; an old and abandoned factory structure that is given a new function. Spaces inside the new Headquarters are therefore dynamic and very distinct between them. The indoor distribution consists of areas for the operative functions divided in open spaces and enclosed offices, while also designating some areas for more special features such as libraries, wellness rooms and break areas, destined to the employees’ welfare and social interaction.
